Kristofer Sommerfeld embarked on his journey laying the foundation for Kristofer Sommerfeld Productions in March of 2013. However, his love of puppetry began at the age of 5 when he first witnessed the art of puppetry and creative ministry. At 11, he joined a puppet ministry and made his very first puppet, marking the beginning of his puppeteering and creative journey.

At the age of 12, Kristofer found himself at his first Fellowship of Christian Puppeteer’s conference. There he met Dale VonSeggen, the founder of One Way Street, INC. Dale took Kristofer under his wing as a mentor, nurturing his talents and offering invaluable learning and teaching opportunities until his passing in 2019.

In 2006, a pivotal moment occurred when Kristofer was introduced to Dave and June Privett. They became instrumental role models for the budding puppeteer and puppet builder. Under Dave's instruction, Kristofer honed his puppet-making skills.

The year 2012 brought an extraordinary moment when Kristofer met Kevin Clash, the former puppeteer behind the beloved Sesame Street character, Elmo. Impressed by Kristofer's skills, Clash extended an invitation to visit the Jim Henson Company workshop in Long Island City, NY, and offered a behind the scenes tour of "Sesame Street" at Kauffman Astoria Studios.

June Privett nominated Kristofer and he was elected Vice President of the Fellowship of Christian Puppeteers.

In 2013, Kristofer brought his dream to life by establishing Kristofer Sommerfeld Productions. This marked a significant milestone in his journey.

In 2015 the brand Puppedcation™ was launched by Kristofer.

Two years later, in 2017, Kristofer was elected as the President of the Fellowship of Christian Puppeteers. He served in this position for 7 years and he now serves on the board in an advisory roll.

In 2018, Dave Privett reached out to Kristofer, initiating the acquisition of his company “PlaySoup”.

In the year 2020, his friends Trent & Jessica Black reached out to him to carry on their company the Creative Arts Store. This diversified his product line to include gospel illusions, clowning resources, and an array of new puppet characters.

In 2022, Kristofer obtained a majority of the assets of Creative Ministries Solutions, formerly known as One Way Street, INC.

And in 2023, as a tribute to the legacy of Dale & Liz VonSeggen and KJ Schmidt, Kristofer launched One Way Squared™, a testament to his commitment and respect for those who inspired his journey.

Today, Kristofer Sommerfeld is a respected puppeteer and builder in the field of creative arts ministry. His wisdom and expertise continue to be shared at regional and national conferences, a testament to the impact of those who believed in him.

Kristofer's goal is to direct his family's ministry, Evergreen Kids™, to new heights, touching the lives of children and families in their communities with the transformative power of the Holy Spirit and the boundless love of Jesus Christ.

Outside of his work, Kristofer enjoys traveling with his wife, Amanda. People have compared him to Walt Disney, Jim Henson, and Milton Hershey…and he is OK with that!
